چکیده

Oral lichen planus (OLP) is an immune-mediated disease of the oral mucosa with idiopathic aetiology. It frequently treated topical corticosteroids (applied as gels, mouthwashes, or sprays); however, mucosal exposure times are short because removal by constant flow saliva and mechanical forces. In this study we used cell monolayers, well equivalents (OMEs) containing activated T-cells, to examine corticosteroid potency delivery clobetasol-17-propionate from a novel electrospun mucoadhesive patch. The OMEs displayed tight junctions, desmosomes, hemidesmosomes, efficient permeability barrier. Following application cells cultured degree cytotoxicity measured correlated level recognized for each corticosteroid; contrast, were largely unaffected treatment. Permeation into through was time- dose-dependent, regardless whether delivered in liquid form patch, both liquid- patch-delivered significantly reduced secretion interleukin-2 T-cells. This confirms that more suitable models than monolayers evaluating toxicity drug delivery. After exposure, accumulated at higher betamethasone-17-valerate hydrocortisone-17-valerate, exerted its immunosuppressive actions following via patch system, highlighting efficacy mode treat OLP.

Skin and oral mucosa equivalents: construction and performance.

The skin and the oral mucosa act as a barrier against the external environment. Loss of this barrier function causes dehydration and a high risk of infection. For the treatment of extensive skin wounds such as in severe burns, autologous skin for transplantation is often not available in sufficient amounts. Reconstructions in the oral cavity, as required after tumor resections or cleft palate r...

Therapeutic Potential of Cholera Toxin B Subunit for the Treatment of Inflammatory Diseases of the Mucosa

Cholera toxin B subunit (CTB) is a mucosal immunomodulatory protein that induces robust mucosal and systemic antibody responses. This well-known biological activity has been exploited in cholera prevention (as a component of Dukoral® vaccine) and vaccine development for decades. On the other hand, several studies have investigated CTB's immunotherapeutic potential in the treatment of inflammato...

It is speculated more that 400 bacterial species reside in the ora1 eavity and the integrity of oral mucosa is maintained in such an environment. Oral mucosal cells such as epithelial cells and fibroblasts express a wide variety of receptors and preduce many immune regulators i, e., cytokines, chemokines, proteases, and chemical mediators and actively participate in host defenses by interacting...
